Using Internet Explorer

1. Open a route map
2. Right click on the map
3. Left click on Copy
4. Open a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word
5. Place cursor on blank document
6. Click Paste
7. Print document

The map can be resized while in the word processing document to better fit an 8 1/2" x 11" page, if required.

Using Netscape Navigator

1. Open a route map
2. Click File, then Save As
3. Save the route map to your hard drive
4. Import the map to a graphic program
5. Print the map

The map should fit neatly on an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet, and can be resized while in the graphic program.

How to Read the Route Schedule

• The schedule tells you the destination of the route you have selected, other major points where the route stops, and important bus features.
  E.g. Route 9 Southgate - Downtown - Kingsway – Northgate Via: Old Strathcona - Kinsmen Sport Centre - Telus Field - Alberta Legislature Building - Victoria School - Royal Alexandra Hospital - NAIT - North Town Mall - Northgate Centre (Bike Rack Equipped).
  
  



• Timing points for the route are shown across the top of the schedule in short form. To see the full description of the timing point, move the cursor over the abbreviation. E.g. Moving the cursor over "NGTE" and "TC" will show "Northgate" and "Transit Centre".
  
  



• Timing points show where the route stops, the bus stop number of these stops, and the direction the bus is travelling at particular timing points. Buses will stop at these major stops and other stops in between.  Express service buses make fewer stops between timing points.
  
  



• Read the schedule from left to right to give you the travel time from point to point.
  
  



• Read the schedule from top to bottom to see how often buses travel from a specific location. (e.g. every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes) Scroll down to view entire schedule.



Note:  ETS uses the 24-hour time clock. If you are not familiar with the 24-hour time convention, click here for a 24-hour clock conversion table. OR to convert time to the 24 hour format use the "Just Add Twelve" concept. For example, if it is 1 p.m and you wanted to convert it to the 24 hour format, you would add 12 + 1 to get 13. You now have 13:00 hours. Likewise, if the time is 5 p.m., you add 5 + 12 to get 17. You now have 17:00 hours. 

To print a Route Schedule in larger font from Internet Explorer:

• Open a route schedule
• Go to Edit
• Click Select All (Ctrl+A)
• Go to Edit
• Click Copy (Ctrl+C)
• Open Microsoft Excel
• Place cursor on blank document
• Click Paste

The Route Schedule should appear in a larger font or can be modified to a larger font in Microsoft Excel.

Bus Features

L - Low Floor Bus Indicates that a low floor bus services the route you have selected. Low floor buses have accessibility features such as the ability to lower to curb level, a ramp to make entering and getting off the bus easier as well as priority seating areas at the front for customers with limited mobility. B – Low Floor Bus Equipped with Bike Rack

Indicates that the route you have selected is a low floor bus equipped with a bike rack.  Bike racks on ETS buses take up to two bikes at a time. Find out more about Bikes on ETS.

C - Community Bus

This route is serviced by an accessible small bus, or community bus. Small buses serve areas where larger buses cannot operate due to roadway or neighborhood restrictions. Find out more about Community Buses.
